Unit Price Calculator
Compare package sizes to see which product costs less for the same amount. Enter prices and quantities in grams, kilograms, millilitres, litres, or items; add a third option when needed.
Compare product value
Enter all prices in the same currency. Select it for formatting, or leave it unselected to show neutral numbers. No currency conversion is performed.
Unit price results
Enter a non-negative price and a quantity greater than zero for every product to compare value.
Formula and example
Unit price = total price ÷ normalized quantity. Mass is compared per kilogram, volume per litre, and item counts per item. The calculator does not compare unlike dimensions or exchange currencies.
Example: A 500 g package for $3.00 costs $6.00/kg. A 1 kg package for $5.00 costs $5.00/kg, so the larger package is $1.00/kg less, using the same currency.
How to use this calculator
- Choose one currency for the comparison. Changing it changes the display only, not the underlying prices.
- Enter a non-negative total price and a quantity greater than zero for each product.
- Choose a unit matching what the quantity measures; add a third product if you want another option.
- Compare the normalized prices and the displayed savings per standard unit.
Frequently asked questions
Can I compare grams with kilograms or millilitres with litres?
Yes. Compatible mass units are normalized to cost per kilogram, and compatible volume units to cost per litre.
Can I compare a product by weight with one by volume?
No. Mass and volume are different dimensions. They can only be related when a valid density is known, and this calculator does not assume one.
Does changing the currency convert the price?
No. The currency selector only chooses a currency format. Enter all product prices in the same currency yourself.
